Concept and inspiration
The pattern was created by combining organic elements with a geometric framework. Using a diamond shaped building structure as the foundation, I designed a repeating pattern filled with hand-drawn tomatoes and complementary details.
Creative process
I began by sketching the tomatoes and smaller decorative elements, experimenting with different ways they could interact with the diamond structure. The balance between the strict geometry and playful organic shapes gives the pattern its unique character.
Digital platforms
To bring the design to life, I worked with Procreate for the initial illustrations and then used Affinity Designer to arrange the final pattern. This combination allowed me to merge hand-drawn expression with precise digital editing.
Final Outcome
The result is a bold, rhythmic pattern where structure and spontaneity meet. "Tomato Pattern" highlights how everyday objects can become decorative and playful when framed within a carefully built design system.
